Women from Machakos County have been urged to seek cancer tests in time.
Speaking at St Jude Catholic Church in Athi River town on Thursday, the wife to the Machakos governor, Lillian Nganga said the disease was the most threatening in the county.
"I urge all women from the entire Machakos County to seek cancer tests in time to avoid infections," said Ms Nganga.
Ms Nganga said it was easier for the disease to be managed when detected in time than if the situation worsens due to complications.
She said women should create time, visit both public and private health facilities from the region for the tests for early intervention.
Ms Nganga said the office of the governor, County Ministry of Health and the region's Maendeleo office had been jointly moving around the entire county creating awareness and sensitising the women on cancer and importance of seeking tests in good time.
She said the government had stocked all public hospitals within the county with adequate drugs to manage and cure various illnesses among the residents.
Ms Nganga, during the same occasion, launched a mass campaign against HIV/Aids in Mavoko sub county.
