Traders in DC market, Kibera, normally face hard business times every first month of the year as their customers stop buying oranges and mangoes fruits.

The traders at the market led by Gladys Rioba, stated that they have good quality mangoes and oranges but their quality is lost as they remain in the store and market for long hence, increasing their numbers and rotting as the days go by. This makes them get huge losses.

''It is very sad that I do not sell as much as before. This month has been very hard. We encountered a lot of losses this season. Customers have kept off. In a day we do not make any sale,'' said Rioba.

She added that if this continues then she will be forced to sell the fruits at a throw away price just to make that little bit of money. As per now, the price of  three ripe oranges is sh40 and three mangoes cost sh30. She says she will lesssen the price to three oranges at sh 20 and mangoes at sh15  to finish off the stock.
