The Judiciary has opened a new law court at Wamunyu market in Mwala Sub-County to ease the administration of justice in the area.

Speaking during the event, Judicial Service Commissioner Mohammed Sameh said that the judiciary will advertise for the positions of 20 legal professionals who will work at the new Wamunyu courts.

“As the Judiciary, we saw it fit to establish a court in this location. I urge local law professionals to apply for the available positions so that they can serve their people,” said Sameh.

The area Member of County Assembly Kyuli Kyalo, who was also in attendance, expressed his gratitude to the judiciary saying justice had been brought closer to the people.

"As people of Wamunyu, we are so glad that we will no longer need to travel to Machakos for court cases. The expenses we have had incurred in the past have been so straining especially in cases where one has to go with witnesses,” he said.

He added, “Sometimes, after travelling all that distance, a case is postponed and you have to reschedule your plans for another day.”

The Judicial Commissioner further clarified that the new court will be able to handle different cases ranging from land disputes and environmental issues in the entire Mwala Sub-County.
