Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has called on the county security team to work tirelessly and guarantee security of residents.
Speaking at Githunguri town on Sunday, Kabogo asked the county security officials led by County Commissioner Alex Nkoyo to streamline security in the region.
Kabogo said there have been concerns among residents over the deteriorating security in some parts of the county.
The governor said security officials in the county have the required resources and support to streamline security.
Kabogo said it is the responsibility of security agencies to ensure security of residents and their properties.
“Our appeal is to our brothers and sisters in the security team within Kiambu to work tirelessly and guarantee safety of Kiambu people,” said the Governor.
The Kiambu county boss said that provision of security should be the first priority adding that his government will work closely with security teams to ensure safety of residents.
Kabogo said that it will be necessary for security to beefed up ahead of the festive season.
Meanwhile, Kabogo has condoled with the families of 13 people who lost their lives in a grisly road accident along Mataara-Murang’a road in Gatundu North on Saturday.
Kabogo said that it was unfortunate that the accident happened adding that motorists must exercise caution while using the roads.
He said all road users must obey traffic rules to curb accidents especially this festive season.
