Kamwangi town residents have challenged the County Government of Kiambu to hurry the initiation of primary services that are lacking in their town.

The residents cited lack of public toilets, poor drainage, old market, and poor county government services at the town as the biggest problems facing them.

Speaking on Tuesday, they regretted that they had not felt the impact of devolution at the grassroots, leave alone their major towns.

''There is a slow pace in which the county government is implementing its budgeted projects for our town, modernisation of our dilapidated market here has only remained to be a pipe dream as there are no efforts by the county government to improve its infrastructure,'' said Moses Mwangi, a town resident.

A business person in the area, Monica Kagiri, said that business people in the area face the greatest challenges due to lack of public toilets thus having to question hygienic standards.

The town residents noted that women and other business people continue to face challenges, given that the town has no well-managed dump site and the drainage system is in bad condition.

The residents have now called on the county government to quicken its development agenda implementations for the benefit of their residents.
