Farmers in Kangundo Sub-County have been advised not to sell their produce once they harvest them, in a bid to prepare for the dry season.

Speaking on Saturday in his office, Kangundo Sub-County deputy county commissioner Samuel Njora said many farmers have already started selling the beans they harvested from their farms.

Njora said that during the dry season, the price of the commodities will go up and those who sold their produce will be forced to buy them at a higher price.

"I would like to urge farmers not to sell the farm produce that they are harvesting from their farms. Some farmers are selling them at a throw away price forgetting that the dry season is fast approaching, and they will be forced to purchase food at a high price,” said Njora.

The deputy commissioner said that if the farmers heed his advice, they will ensure food security.
