Kangundo Deputy Commissioner, Mr Samuel Njora has asked parents to guide their children who have just completed their national examinations.
Speaking on Thursday at a press conference outside his office in Kangundo Town, Njora said that the teenagers have started indulging in drug and alcohol abuse.
"We are recording increased cases of under age children who have just completed their national examinations indulging in drug and alcohol abuse," said Njora.
The deputy commissioner said that the teenagers are also roaming in the sub-county during late night hours.
He said that the freedom parents have given their children is the reason why they are abusing drugs and getting involved in other immoral activities.
Njora said parents were putting their children's lives and health at risk by not taking enough control over the teenagers lives and not monitoring how they spend their leisure time.
He also urged parents to have regular talks on life lessons with their children and find ways of keeping them occupied.
