Panic has engulfed residents of Kaptembwo in Nakuru county after a middle aged man's body was found on the roadside near the shopping center on Thursday morning. They suspect that the man who is believed to be a motorcycle operator was killed elsewhere before being dumped in the area by unknown people.
According to night guards who recovered the body while leaving from their night duty at 6am in the morning, they took the initiative of reporting to the police after stumbling on the lifeless body.
"At first we thought he was drunk but on moving closer, we noticed that he had died," noted Tom Wanyama, a night guard at a shop at the shopping center.
Area police boss Patrick Makau called for patience as police launched investigations into the matter.
"We regret everything and are calling on the residents to help us get leads that will facilitate arresting of the criminals," he said further expressing confidence that all officers in the area were committed to ending crime.
A majority of Kaptembwo residents are accusing the officers of sleeping on their job at the expense of providing security. They have now called on the police officers to intensify patrols to assure them of their security.
