Business people at Kebirigo market have called upon the Nyamira county government to reconnect the market stalls lighting system which they claim last worked in 2010.
Speaking from his stall at the market, Mr. Eric Ombati who sells clothes said the greatest challenge for the business community at the market is lack of light.
"We leave the market as early as 5pm since we can't conduct our businesses in darkness," said Ombati.
"Light is essential in this business; with light we can make more profits by extending our time here in the evening," added Mrs. Ruth Nyakerario, a lady who sells vegetables at the market.
On another note, improvement in the security and cleaning at the market were also pointed out as the strengths of the market with applause to the county government.
"Incidents of insecurity have drastically reduced and the county government has also been committed in the market's cleanliness," said Evans Onkoba, another business owner at the market.
The business people now want the levies collected at Kebirigo market on Tuesdays and Thursday used in revitalizing the essential facilities.
