Kisii motorists have raised concern over the increased number of stray animals along the roads citing it as dangerous.

They claim some individuals leave their animals to roam about the roads as they graze.

“Animals don’t have the common sense and keep running into the roads which is very risky for the motorists," said Njenga.

"I have once hit a cow which almost turned tragic when I tried to avoid it I almost collided with an oncoming vehicle," he said

"Luckily there were no casualties. I roughed up with the herds person who did not even understand what the incident portrays,” added Njenga.

They want the locals to take responsibility and take care of their animals back home and not along the roads.

“It is very risky to have animals along the roads which are now becoming a common feature," said Kiguta.

"You find little boys herding animals along the roads which is risky for both the animal and the children,” added Kiguta.

They claim Keroka and Mwembe residents are the ones most adversely affected by this culture.
