The government will improve communication, surveillance systems by recruiting more officers to achieve UN recommended ratio, President Uhuru has said.

Kenyatta was speaking on Friday when he presided over the Kenya Police Service, recruits passing-out parade in Kiganjo Training College.

 "Services in the past have faced challenges that my government is addressing : I challenge the leadership of the service to deal with integrity aspect of the police service," he said.

The President also expressed his appreciation to the recruits saying that the college had produced gallant officers whom should be emulated. 

"I know the training was rigorous. Its not a job for the faint-hearted. We celebrate your achievement," Uhuru said.

 His sentiments were echoed by the CS Interior Joseph Nkaissery who also asked the graduates to portray the issue of integrity even when they are not being watched.

"These young men and women are disciplined. We have trained on all national security aspects and integrity," he said.
