School-going children in Kibera are set to watch the proposed Malala movie starting Monday at the Nakumatt Prestige, Ngong Road.

Pupils who are chosen from different schools will be sponsored by Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth who will pay Sh500 for every student.

This will also be used as a teaching technique since it is a motivational movie which targets the youths.

The idea was welcomed and supported by the head teachers in Kibera.  The teachers also met on Friday to choose the dates they will avail their pupils to watch the movie.

Speaking to the teachers at DC, the constituency liaison officer Vincent Akoko said the exercise will kick off on Monday and is set to benefit 10,000 pupils.

We are not limiting any school. Let every school participate. All expenses will be catered by honourable Okoth," he said.

The pupils will meet at the DC office before heading to the venue. The sessions will run through to Friday.

"Please arrive early so that we can get to the venue on time. We intend to save on time so that we can accommodate more pupils within the time given by the managers at the theatre," added Akoko.
