Kibra MP Ken Okoth has urged residents in the constituency to apply for jobs with the United Nations, Nairobi office.
Okoth took to his Facebook to rally his constituents who have met the qualifications to apply for the jobs even as the global body seeks to enlist their services.
Up to 110 posts are up for grabs.
In light with this, a section of Kibera residents on Friday thanked the legislator for the alert saying it shows how caring he is to his electorate.
“Not all people in power will alert their constituents about vacancies at any office. If they do, then they will pick their relatives, tribemates or even close associates. Honourable Okoth is one in a million,” said Edwin Moses Owino.
Owino who is yet to apply for any post says he is positive about change in Kibera since if a person will be employed, he can fight to change the face of Kibera.
Masinde Kakai too said the youths who are educated should take the challenge seriously and apply for the posts.
“It can be anyone’s luck. Let no person say he cannot apply for the job. Young people should not despise themselves,” said Kakai.
