The 2015 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination results will be released next week on Wednesday 30, December this year according to a notice by Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) published in local dailies today.

The notice signed by KNEC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Joseph Kivilu states that the results will be released by Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Fred Matiang’i in a ceremony to be held at Mitihani House in Nairobi on Wednesday 30, December starting 9 am.

According to the notice, candidates will be able to access their results through SMS.

The candidates will be required to send their index numbers through SMS to 22252 immediately after the release of the results.

Candidates who will wish to have their papers remarked will have 30 working days from the date of the release to appeal.

According to KNEC, about 937,467 pupils sat for the examination in November this year.

The number was higher compared to 889,163 pupils who sat for the same examination in 2014.

The candidate’s preparation to this year’s examination was hampered by the teacher’s five weeks nation-wide strike in September and October that saw students stay at home.

Education experts are anticipating the likeliness of poor performance among candidates due to the time wasted during the teachers strike.
