A Member of Parliament in Nakuru has called on the police to arrest and prosecute all persons behind the fallen Kalenjin songtress Diana Chelele saying justice must prevail.

This is according to Kuresoi South MP Zakayo Cheruiyot who eulogised Chelele as a dedicated and talented singer who used her talent to preach peace.

Speaking in Kapkwen during the burial mass for Chelele on Thursday, Cheruiyot urged the police not to take the case lightly saying the whole country was looking up to them to ensure that the singer's killers are apprehended and charged.

"This is not just about the Kalenjin community, the music fraternity and the country as a whole has entrusted you (the police) to provide answers, please don't be compromised," he said.

The MP further called for patience as police intensify their investigations saying tampering with the process might see justice being denied.

"Now that the matter is with the police, let us await the final report and avoid unconfirmed speculations and rumours," he noted.

The mass was attended by high profile government officials, musicians and thousands of Kenyans from all walks of life.
