Gatundu South lawmaker Moses Kuria has termed opposition’s OKOA Kenya referendum Bill as a plot to distract the government from delivering its mandate.

Kuria says that the OKOA Kenya referendum campaigns by Cord is not objective and does not have the interests of Kenyans.

The Gatundu South MP alleges that the opposition is using every opportunity to their disposal to derail and distract the Jubilee government from performing.

“We are aware of the tricks being used by opposition leaders to distract and cause confusion in the government,” said Kuria during a briefing with journalists at Gatundu town on Wednesday.

The MP said that opposition leaders have run out of ideas and want to use the OKOA Kenya referendum to gain some prominence and following among Kenyans.

Kuria said that the government will not be intimidated by opposition tricks. He instead asked the opposition to be objective and allow the government to serve Kenyans.

The opposition on Monday presented its OKOA Kenya Referendum draft to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).It  also presented 1.6 Million signatures to the electoral body to kick start the referendum process.
