Kibera boda boda operators are at risk of contracting diseases caused by coldness as a result of the ongoing rains.
Speaking on Monday at their boda boda stage located at Laini Saba area, Geoffrey Bichobe, the group’s secretary said the riders could get cold related diseases such as cold and flu and pneumonia if they do not dress appropriately for the weather.
“All riders should dress appropriately to avoid the risks involved with the wet season. Some riders operate even when it is raining. This is risky to their health and chances of contracting sicknesses are high. All of us riders should wear rain coats and heavy clothing as well as helmets to keep warm,” said Bichobe.
He also urged the operators to buy motorcycle umbrellas for themselves and their customers.
