The low voter registration in Kibera has now become worrying.
One of the area residents, Philip Mabuka advised the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to instruct the clerks involved in the registration process to make door to door voter registration in these coming last days of registration.
Speaking at Laini Saba area, Mabuka said IEBC should look for ways to reach people in any way they possibly can in order to register them as voters.
"Disabled people within Kibera slums will not make it to registration centres to register. It would be wise for IEBC to organise a door to door registration process to get more people to register ahead of the 2017 elections,’’ he said.
He also noted that the low turnout is as a result of the limited time people have because of their tight schedules. He insisted that door to door registration will help people register as voters and IEBC should consider it as the duration comes to an end.
