Residents from Ngalalya village in Matuu estate, Matungulu sub county on Wednesday protested against their chief's administration claiming that he was a brutal and corrupt leader and should step down immediately.

"We are demanding that chief Stanlus Kivuva Maluli should stay out of the office during this duration where he has a case to answer to in court because we no longer trust in his administration until the court gives its stand," said Mwanzia Muli, the victim of the chiefs physical assault.

The people said that the chief should be the one discouraging violent dispute resolution and instead initiate peaceful mediation and arbitration.

They also said that the chief did exactly the opposite of this when he incited a group of men to attack a resident that he had had a misunderstanding with leaving him with serious injuries.
