Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has stressed his commitment to delivering his campaign pledges saying his desire is to leave the county better than he found.

This, he said, is the best way of leaving an unforgettable legacy, especially after being the pioneer among governors under the devolved system of governance that was adopted after the 2013 elections.

Speaking Tuesday at Orthodox Primary School, Elburgon ward, Mbugua said by the end of his term; livelihoods of the people of Nakuru ought to be better than when he assumed office.

The governor vowed to use the available resources and like-minded leaders within the ranks in initiating pro-development projects aimed at elevating the status on Nakuru and its environs.

“Although the ward fund was abolished, here in Nakuru County, we are using the ward factor to distribute wealth of the county equally to all our 55 wards,” he said.

He noted that all projects initiated under his regime must be completed in due time and faulted leaders who were moving in the umbrella of County projects instead of coming up with their own.

“We have other channels where a leader can access development funds, time has come to stand and be counted; what have you done for your people ever since you assumed office? Let my projects be and show what you have done in person,” he noted.

He donated 1, 670 uniforms to students, sanitary pads to upper primary girls and other reading materials to the school.
