Despite facing criticism from various leaders and the civil society of corruption allegations in Nakuru County, Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has hailed the efforts made by his government in improving health standards in the region.

The county boss was addressing the media on Tuesday at the county headquarters where he flagged off ambulances for seven sub-counties which will be used as mobile clinics to take health services closer to the people in company of his deputy Joseph Rutto, county Secretary Joseph Motari, several ministers, their chief officers and several MCAs among other county officials.

"My government has done tremendous job in bettering the health standards of people in this region. We have greatly improved sanitation amenities which has helped boost the health sector. Before devolution, this county used to lose about Sh972 million to sanitation related illnesses which accounted for over 80 per cent of all maladies suffered in the county. However, the situation is now different," Mbugua stated.

Nakuru government is currently under pressure following corruption allegations but the county boss has since assured citizens of their innocence and commitment in championing for development.
