Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has eluded confidence in completing projects initiated under his administration further calling on all leaders to support him in ensuring he fulfills his campaign manifesto.
Speaking at Subukia shopping centre where he made a stopover on Sunday before officiating a funds drive at the Kenya Assemblies of God Church, he called on residents to be on the alert for any individuals engaging in corruption saying he will not allow a few people with questionable characters to taint his administration’s image.
“Corruption has proved to be a real threat to development in the country, let all of us be in the forefront in fighting it. We have suggestion boxes at all public offices, when you seek services and you are then forced to bribe so as to be attended to, drop your complaint there and trust me, when they reach my desk, I will act,” he said.
He also assured residents of refrubishing the dilapidated roads in the area after residents lamented of how poor transport was affecting the area's development by delaying movement of goods and services.
The county boss in his Jamhuri Day speech had called for a collective approach in developing Nakuru so as all areas including the remote areas get the chance of being included in the development agenda.
“My dream is to see a Nakuru with good roads, better healthcare, investment and entrepreneurship opportunities, good security and independent youths. All sub-counties will be reached because we are not favouring any region,” he said.
Nakuru comprises 11 sub-counties and in his words; the governor is committed to leaving an unforgettable development legacy and setting the bar high for his predecessors.
The funds drive was in aid of the completion of a permanent church building that is ongoing at the KAG Church compound.
