Men in Kangundo Sub-County have been urged to get involved in their children upbringing.
Speaking in his office on Friday, Kangundo deputy county commissioner Samuel Njora said that parenting is a responsibility of both parents.
Njora said many men were avoiding their parental roles and leaving the responsibility to their wives.
He said that women should not be left to bring up children on their own as it can be challenging especially when dealing with teenagers.
"Parenting is a responsibility of both parents and fathers should ensure they get involved in their children’s lives,” said Njora.
The deputy commissioner said many men arrive home late and leave for job early hence do not spend time with their kids.
He urged fathers to spare time for their children and be good role models.
