Residents of Mitimingi village in Nakuru are lamenting over increased cases of insecurity.
Residents said cases of insecurity have reached alarming levels in the area.
This after a middle-aged man was found killed and dumped in a thicket in the area last.
On Tuesday, a resident escaped what could have been a rape ordeal.
According to the victim, she said she had visited a nearby river in the evening when two men pounced on her and roughed her to the ground.
"I was fetching water when they emerged from nowhere and pulled me to the ground. I raised an alarm as they tried to shut my mouth," the victim said.
"The screams attracted people making the two attackers to flee into the forest," she added.
According to witnesses, the woman would have been raped by the two suspects who were not identified.
"She is lucky, this area is becoming too bad. Young men are smoking bhang all over and they might be the ones doing these ill," Jane Wanjiku, a resident, said.
Area chief has called for a baraza on Friday, March 11 to address the issue of security.
