Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has received a rare backing from a Nyamira County politician over his recent criticism of the government.

Bosire has been facing criticism from his political rivals over his public criticism of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration with some associating stalled projects, among them roads, to his bitter relationship with the government.

Speaking in Magombo ward on Tuesday, Annet Onsando, who has declared interest in Women Representative position in Nyamira said the government had an obligation to work in all corners regardless of the political affiliations of local leaders.

She challenged the government to complete in time Metamaywa-Kebirigo and Kemera- Magombo roads whose construction had slowed down due to delay of funding from National Treasury.

“Our leaders have a choice to support either the government or opposition. Therefore, Bosire (Timothy) should not be blamed for slow progress of projects sponsored by the national government. The government has an obligation to fund the projects and finish them in time regardless whether area MP supports its or not,” she said.

She said continued slowdown of projects will not be taken lightly by area residents and urged the MP to remain strong and support his coalition of choice.

“We just can’t get a raw deal because he supports Cord. He has his rights and that ought to be respected. We need to see these stalled projects finished in time because after all Jubilee will need our support in 2017,” she added.

Bosire was elected on an ODM ticket and is the current national treasurer of the Orange party and Walter Nyambati of Jubilee is one of his close challengers.

ODM is a major affiliate in opposition coalition Cord.
