Kabondo Kasipul MP Silvance Osele has urged Kisumu County residents to register as voters in preparation for 2017 elections.
The MP was speaking to the residents of Nyakach sub county on Tuesday.
He used research findings to challenge and urge the people on the need to register as voters.
Mr Osele said only registering and voting can offer the best support for Cord leader Raila Odinga in his 2017 presidential bid.
He said revelations that four million unregistered voters come from Nyanza region was hurting.
He further added that the three million statistics of people without ID cards in the region is hurting.
The legislator asked those without ID cards to come out and register to acquire the document, and later be able to register as voters.
He urged those with IDs to come out and register when the mass voter registration begins.
"Research showed that there are four million unregistered voters and three million people without IDs in this region. It is hurting. I am asking all the four million people to come out and register when the mass voter registration begins," he said.
