A legislature in Nakuru has applauded the county government's emergency response team after it moved in on time to avert the situation after a Kenya Pipeline Company pipe was damaged in Jasho area by a grader that was on site.
Speaking after visiting the scene on Friday afternoon, Nakuru Town West MP Samwel Arama was full of praise on the department’s response to the anomaly saying any delay could have made the situation worse.
"It was an unfortunate incident but all in all, our able emergency officers are here to restore things and ensure everything is back to normalcy," he told area residents a majority who had panicked.
Arama called for patience as engineers from KPC and the county put in joint efforts to rectify the burst pipe.
He further thanked residents for their cooperation and informing the relevant authorities on time which he believed had proven crucial in saving the situation.
"In such a circumstance, communication is critical. It's better to save the situation first before engaging in blame games," the MP noted.
He also tasked the company to take responsibility of the mess and ensure that nobody was affected by the spilled petroleum.
