Kibra MP Ken Okoth has warned students in his constituency against engaging in examination irregularities lest they become victims of results cancellation.
Addressing KCSE candidates at Shadrack Kimwalel Secondary school on Thursday, Okoth urged them to embrace honesty in examinations by 'refusing' to take the leakages that are allegedly circulating in the country.
"Just do your best because if you cheat and the results are cancelled, its going to be very painful. I don't want to hear a case that Shadrack Kimwalel or any other school in Kibera was involved in cheating and exams were cancelled; I know this is going to be a big challenge because there have been widespread leakages but just be honest in your work," said the MP.
He challenged them to remain content with the grades honestly earned.
"Honesty is the best policy even if you get a B or D, it is what you earned than cheating to get an A. Should you be caught cheating and results cancelled, you may remain frustrated in life but I believe you will get good things afterwards by joining colleges or universities," he added.
The lawmaker who is also a member of the Parliamentary committee on education has stood firm in championing the disbandment of the Kenya National Examination Council over rampant KCSE exam leakage this year.
