Patrick Makau King'ola, Member of National Assembly for Mavoko has urged parents to invest in their children through education which is the main determinant of a good future for a child.
The Mp was speaking at Kinanie primary school on February 8 during the annual parents meeting in the school.
He said that failure to plan for a child's new academic year half term has caused many children to drop out of school, most of them due to lack of school uniforms.
"I don't see the reason as to why a parent can fail to plan the future for his or her child. It is sad to see children loitering in the streets of Athi River town when others are busy planning for their good future," said Makau.
Makau added that some parents fail to advise their children because they lack education which results to the children becoming desperate and hopeless in life.
He urged educated parents to help in modelling those children in order to brighten their future.
During the meeting, the Mp was humbled to give new school uniform worth Sh37,000 to 37 kids who entertained him through folk dances.
