Residents of Mukunike sub-location in Kangundo sub-county have for the last week been in a blackout after their electricity was cut out.
The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) officers since last week have been carrying out an exercise of disconnecting power in 15 homes in the area.
Tala KPLC officers have stated the move to disconnect power in the 15 homes comes as a result of the manner in which power was connected to their homes last year.
However the residents led by one of them Erick Ngili have condemned the move stating they had made expensive payments and had followed all the right channels.
"Last year when KPLC was connecting our electricity we paid Sh17,000 for every wooden post and Sh8,000 for each place where a drop was needed and now we are told she didn't do things right," said Ngili.
"In December 2015 we had our houses fixed with metres and we pay by buying tokens but the officers have cut all drops and wires," he added.
The residents have therefore urged KPLC to reconnect power back.
