A lobby group in Nakuru is calling for the dissolution of the Supreme Court following graft allegations that have rocked it in the past few days.

The Nakuru Corruption Watch group says the highest court in the land has lost its credibility, and its judges should step aside, if not, fired.

Speaking Sunday in Nakuru town, chairman Timothy Bosire said the Supreme Court's image has been tarnished, and it will be fair if it's disbanded.

“As it stands, the highest court in the land has issues over its head that have cost its credibility, and it will be fair to Kenyans and even the course of justice if the court is dissolved and the judges sent home,” said Bosire.

He added; “It will be unfair to allow the current judges to handle any petitions that might arise from the coming general election because their impartiality has been compromised, and nobody will trust their judgment."

Bosire said the Judicial Service Commission should investigate all the Supreme Court judges and conduct a lifestyle audit on all of them to determine how much wealth they have accumulated for the short time they have served at the top court.

“All these judges should be investigated and they should tell Kenyans how much money they have accumulated for the time they have served and how they acquired it,” he said.
