Nakuru Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chairman Peter Ole Osono has urged youths to apply for National Identification cards as early as possible so that they can register as voters ahead of the fourth coming general elections in 2017.
The chairman said many youths who have attained 18 years and above have no IDs and this could drag the party behind during elections.
Ole Osono said lack of identification cards and voting cards has been identified as a major problem, not only to ODM but also to other parties, saying that lack of the vital documents has contributed to small number of people who turn up to vote.
"I want to urge our youths to apply for IDs as early as this. Lack of IDs and voting cards has contributed to poor results when it comes to elections, let us apply for those documents to arm ourselves for the coming general election," he said.
He was speaking to the press in Nakuru Saturday afternoon.
