The Law Society of Kenya Kisumu branch elections kicked off on Thursday smoothly with 148 advocates casting their votes by the end of Thursday.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Returning Officer for the branch George Omondi said the process started without any hitches.

“The agents were in time and even the advocates who wanted to vote arrived early. The exercise went on well,” he said.

Speaking to the press at Kisumu High Court, Omondi said the agents were taken through on what constitutes a spoilt vote.

“This is just like another general election,” he said.

LSK new President, Isaac Okero speaking to the press after voting expressed optimist that he would win the vote.

“I am delighted by the process and God willing I will emerge the winner,” he said.

The election was conducted in 25 Court premises across the country with a total of 69 candidates contesting for 26 positions.
