Residents of Nyabisiongororo village in Gucha sub county have expressed concern over the poor state of roads and lack of bridges in the area more so those connecting them to Ogembo town.
The residents said that the current pathetic state of roads had affected the movement and transportation of goods and services during this rainy season that is being experienced in the area.
They are now calling on the national and county government to use the money set aside for El nino rains in building bridges and repairing the sections which have been destroyed by the current heavy rains.
They pointed out that many roads in the area lack bridges thus making it difficult for them to transport goods and farm products to the market.
Cyrus Kenyanya, a resident in the area complained that most of the available bridges are blocked by floods making them difficult to use to cross.
“The crisis has greatly affected business in the area. It has made the transportation of goods and passengers difficult due to frequent flooding,” said Kenyanya
They pointed out that travellers who are mostly business people in the area have found it hard to do business following the flooding streams.
