Residents of Nyambunwa in Sameta sub-county have been challenged to vaccinate their dogs against rabies.

Nyambunwa clan elder Kasmir Maobe warned residents not to keep dogs without vaccinating them against the disease, saying they pose a danger to other people.

Speaking during a public baraza on Thursday afternoon, Maobe lamented that majority of the residents keep dogs and yet they have not given them the anti-rabies jabs much to the detriment of other residents.

He said it was expensive to treat rabies and hence the need to vaccinate their dogs regularly against the disease.
