The Elimu Kwanza initiative, which was well received by parents in Kibera, has been a motivational campaign started by the area MP, Ken Okoth to help out needy children.
The slogan which has been well embraced by teachers of Olympic Primary, has foreseen them being awarded by the MP.
Okoth on Tuesday awarded the school with 15 HP computers, laser printers, UPS and a Sony LED projector. The presents were received by the staff led by the head teacher, Caleb Ochieng. He presented the presents before parents who had attended their children’s meeting.
One parent, Ruth Akoth, said she was amazed by the move the MP had made.
''I am very impressed by the action Okoth has done. It is very rare to find an MP who can fight for children’s education to this level. Okoth is really trying and as a parent, I must say thank you since my child will also be among the beneficiaries,'' she said.
Another paren, Michael Kunania, said this was the best move by the MP and said it is high time youths voted for youthful leaders who can easily understand the problems of fellow youths.
''Children needs should be catered for. This is an advantage of having a youth leader,'' he said.
