A class three pupil died while four others are nursing serious injuries after they were hit by a school van on Monday morning.
Eye witnesses said the driver of the school van that hit them lost control hitting the pupils.
Speaking to the press on Monday, area residents decried the increased cases of pedestrians being knocked around the area.
“We are appealing to the county government to create a pavement for people to walk to prevent the occurrence of such accidents,” said John Towett, a resident
Confirming the incident, Molo traffic police boss Nderitu Maina said that they had already launched investigations into the matter.
“I am appealing to drivers to be keener on the road to avoid such incidents as we have lost a lot lives over such cases,” Maina said.
He added that they had already arrested the driver and he will be arraigned in court.
At the Kambala Primary, where the pupils attend school, grief engulfed following the news of the death of their classmate.
