There is panic for Kisii University students in Nyamira campuses after the Commission for University Education (CUE) ordered for the closure of the campus.

According to some of the students who are ongoing with their learning in the campus, they are so much disappointed and are now calling for the University Chancellor to quickly address the issue.

Speaking to one of the students who seeked anonymity, they blame the government and are at crossroads at the moment as most of them have already paid school fees for the last three years and fear that they may lose it all.

“We blame the government for taking that action instead of ensuring that all the campuses are well equiped before giving them licences to operate,” he added.

This comes barely days after the Commission for University Education Chief Executive Officer David Some gave a recommendation to the Minister for education to close down the universities for not being accredited.

According to information to their website the ten Kisii University campuses to be closed include Keroka, Eldama Ravine, Nyamira, Kabarnet, Eldoret, Ogembo, Migori and Isebania.
