Parents in Kibera have been urged to encourage their children whose results were cancelled by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).

Speaking at Makina village in Kibera, Richard Martin, a teacher at Genesis Preparatory school, Uthiru said that parents should not use the excuse of their children’s poor performance to neglect them and shun them away.

“Parents whose children did not get good results or whose results were cancelled should ensure that they encourage those children in order to at least give them support. Parents should appreciate whatever their children got,’’ said Martin.

He advised candidates whose performance was poor and whose results were cancelled to have a positive mind and go back to class once more to better their grades.

“Parents encourage your children. Do not pressure them despite the pains you are undergoing,” suggested Martin.
