Karuga noted that the government had spent Kshs. 2.7 million for the 2015 to fund education for the orphans and vulnerable children in the constituency and now with the increase, Kshs. 4.2 million is expected to be used in the year 2016.
The officer who revealed the information during to the area children advisory committee’s meeting held on Monday morning at Kamwangi said that the students in both day and boarding schools will be equally treated in the allocation of the funds.
"This money will be allocated to the students through the constituency social assistance committees and equal allocation to students in both day and boarding schools will be done," he added.
Karuga appealed to parents or guardians who look after orphans and vulnerable students to start making the funds application early to avoid late application inconveniences.
"The application forms are available at the children’s office at Kamwangi town and will also be distributed to chief’s office for access. Please return the forms after filling them," he urged parents.
