Property 0f unknown value was on Wednesday evening destroyed following a fire that broke out at a mini food café near Nakuru Top Market within the CDB.

According to John Kamau, an eyewitness, the fire was caused by an electric fault from chips frying kit.

Three other stalls which house electronics and clothes shop caught fire before good Samaritans rushed to the scene to salvage the little they could.

One person was rushed to Nakuru Level Five Hospital after she was overcome by fumes.

Nakuru county government firefighters arrived timely and managed to put out the fire.

Kenya power and lighting company Emergency Team also arrived at the scene and disconnected the power lines.

Several items were looted by members of the public before police could secure the scene.
