Religious leaders in Gatundu North have been encouraged to pull their resources together and invest in development opportunities to improve the standards of living for the faithful.

Speaking in a collaboration meeting with Kamwangi association of church leaders on Tuesday at Kamwangi Holy Ghost Church, Gatundu North Member of Parliament Kigo Njenga noted that religion highly contributes to the growth of an economy.

"I want to encourage you to pull your resources together and invest in various development opportunities in order to help increase sources of livelihoods and improve living standards for your faithful," he said.

Kigo who was accompanied by Kamwangi chief Joseph Gathu challenged religious institutions and area residents to become more visionary in their thinking.

"I am also urging you to incorporate professionals from different fields including agriculture and business whenever you organize for conferences and related activities so that besides religious nourishment, the faithful also benefit from important life skills from experts," he added.

The Member of Parliament promised to continue supporting and working closely with women and youth development groups in the area.

Kigo appealed to Gatundu North sub county residents in general to exploit the area’s rich and fertile land by investing in agribusiness.
