Residents of Kochogo South location in Nyando sub county are complaining over bed bug infestation. The residents have said that the parasitic insects have invaded them all over the village.
The residents who gathered near Nyomwaro School said that it is something they have never experienced before. One of the residents, Rosa Nderi said that the insects are still a menace despite their efforts of trying to curb the situation.
The villagers are now worried that the infestation of the bugs may force them to vacate their houses. Peter Ombie, another resident from the area said that the bugs have become a menace since the residents can't sleep in peace anymore.
"I am Peter Ombie of Kochogo South. This issue of bed bugs is now becoming a disaster and they have spread all over the village," said Peter.
They also said that the infestation has also spread to the nearby Nyomwaro School and learning has been interfered with.
They have appealed to the county government for help to end the menace.
