Matunua residents in Gesima ward have been urged to voluntarily donate land for the construction of roads that can be used to access the place, where the factory is likely to be constructed.

According to Riaking’oina buying centre chairman Atera Makori, farmers need to give out some land which can be used in the construction of roads to enable the  accessibility of the proposed factory.

Makori, who was speaking on Tuesday at Riaking’oina said that although the farmers have given land for the construction of the proposed factory, they also need to give some land for the construction of the said roads.

“Accessing the site needs to have many roads, so I urge farmers mostly those who are near the site to voluntarily give some land for  the construction of roads,” said Makori

Philip Obiri, a farmer also said that it will be so good if they will have more than three roads to the site, and urged other tea farmers to give out land for the same course.

Obiri, who has voluntarily given his land for the construction of one of the roads said that having such roads will help the area in terms of development .

“I have given land for the construction of the road simply because I know that this is development. I urge others to give some land for more roads," said Obiria.
