Kisii residents have been urged to register as voters in readiness for next year's general election.
The plea follows the launch of the massive voter registration exercise by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission on Monday.
Speaking to this writer on Monday at Kisii Primary School, Nickson Nyakwemba who is eyeing the Kisii Central Ward member of country assembly seat, urged residents, especially the youth, to turn out in their numbers and get the crucial document.
He said the voter's card is one way of bringing the change they so much desire in Kisii Central and Kenya at large.
“The exercise has kicked off today (Monday), I urge residents to come out in large numbers and register," said Nyakwemba
Additionally, he said registering as a voter will enable them participate in next year's general election in choosing leaders of their choice.
Nyakwemba also said this is the time they need change in Kisii Central ward and the change will come from voters.
