National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale has been challenged to consider quitting from the House following a damming affidavit by former Devolution CS Ann Waiguru that implicated him in the ongoing National Youth Service saga.

The former CS has dragged Duale into alleged loss of over Sh791 million from the NYS kitty, claiming the Garissa Town MP of blocked investigations by the anti-graft commission, EACC.

But on Wednesday, Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire joined the debate demanding that Duale quits from Parliament to clear his name.

“He (Duale) is fond of abusing and dismissing other leaders whenever they are mentioned in scandals. Now that Wiguru mentioned him in an affidavit, he should resign without delay. He should lead by example and hope he won’t start beating around the bush,” Bosire said in an interview.

The ODM MP said Duale’s resignation from Parliament will give the fight against corruption a huge boost since the majority leader is on record for trolling other institutions on corruption related matters.

“Personally I think he should resign and set a good precedence. This isn’t a small matter because we are talking of over Sh700 million lost through dubious deals. The other day he was telling Chief Justice Willy Mutunga to resign following the Justice Philip Tonui Sh200 million bribe saga. We want him now to reduce the rhetoric and act by resigning to face probe,” he added.

Bosire also slammed investigative agencies saying they had failed the country for failing to investigate Duale on his remarks about terrorism almost a year ago.

“CID failed to investigate Duale when he told the nation that he knew the financiers of terrorism. Nothing has been done since then. This man is scandalous and we want him to step aside to pave way for investigations on the NYS scandal,” Bosire said.
