The Commission on Administrative Justice chair Otiende Amollo has called on Kenyans to stop impunity and respect the Constitution.
Speaking during a public lecture at Kisii University on Friday, Amollo explained how the 2010 Constitution has been adversely affected by impunity lately, especially from highly ranked officials in Government, citing corruption as example.
"Corruption in Kenya is detected but goes unpunished. We have tried in detection, investigation and trial of suspects, but have failed because of the impunity by high profiled people," said the Ombudsman.
"If we want to end impunity, then we must change our attitude and respect the Constitution,” he said.
In addition, Amollo said everyone is free to contact the Office of the Ombudsman concerning maladministration in public offices such as delay, inaction and unresponsiveness to duty.
He encouraged reporting of complaints to the offices of the Ombudsman located at huduma centers countrywide.
