A section of youths in Rhonda Nakuru West sub county are a happy lot after they landed light jobs in the on going road construction exercise in the area. The youths on Thursday expressed their excitement and lauded the county government for listening to their pleas.
"At least we have something to look forward to for now however menial," said Hezekiah Onyango, one of the lucky youth.
According to Davies Ngaruya, another lucky youth, he had looked forward to the job since the exercise began and his hiring was simply God-sent. The locals had joined the young men in their quest to be enlisted in the exercise saying that such a move would keep them away from drugs and crime which they argued was taking a toll on their lives.
The Rhonda-Barut, Rhonda-Shabab roads are undergoing renovations as part of the county government's initiative of repairing them and linking them to the major highways in the county.
