It may be seen as a Bomet County senatorial election to many Kenyans but in the mind of the Deputy President Ruto, it is a test of his influence come 2017.

In the recent years, he has created many political enemies in his region. Bomet governor, Isaac Rutto has already declared that he is no longer supporting the deputy president and even formed a party as his 2017 political vehicle.

Keeping in mind the loss he received in Nyongeres ward and in his most outing to drum for his party candidates, it seems Ruto has lost words to sweet talk his people with.

In the last general election, many politicians had the opinion that the merger between URP and TNA was brought about by The Hague cases and going by that, it may be the end of the road for Ruto since the linking factor no longer exists.

Kenyan politicians have been advocating for agenda politics rather than propaganda politics but as it is now, the Bomet elections turned the DP from the person we knew of Kusema na Kutenda to a propaganda politician as he has portrayed.

If the jubilee party loses this seat, which even the opposition party CORD never contested for, it will make matters worse for the KANU party candidate.
