The Kenya National Union of Teachers secretary general Wilson Sossion has put the Jubilee administration on notice that it risks being voted out by teachers in next year's general election if it will not relief two Teachers Service Commission commissioners of their duties for working against teachers' interests.

Sossion demanded that the Government sacks the commissioners to redeem the image of the commission and make it friendly to the teachers or risk being voted out by teachers in protest come the 2017 elections.

Speaking at Gusii Stadium on Thursday evening during the union elections for Kisii branch, Sossion said the two commissioners must quit TSC for teachers to renew their working relationship with their employer, failure to which he threatened to mobilise teachers across the country to vote against the Jubilee administration in next year's elections.

"As a union leadership, we are putting the Government on notice that we will mobilise our members across the country to vote in protest against this regime for keeping the two TSC commissioners in office to the detriment of the teachers' interests and welfare,"the secretary general stated.

He, however, warned teachers against signing performance contracts and job appraisal forms fronted by TSC, claiming that by doing so, they will be signing away promotions.

"Signing those performance contracts and job appraisal forms is like signing out your promotion and you will work for the rest of your life as a teacher without a single promotion,"warned Sossion.

He said teachers will soon go on strike to protest against TSC's push for teachers to sign performance contracts and job appraisal forms, saying the Union has not been consulted and engaged on the matter by TSC.

During the peaceful elections, Albert Ondimu Onkoba was elected the union's Kisii Central branch executive secretary, replacing Shem Nyaundi, with Nicholas Oyaro winning the branch chairmanship.

Felister Ochari was voted in as the vice chair, while Gerald Mogere as the assistant executive secretary and Daniel Mariko as branch treasurer).

Others are; Richard Ayako (assistant treasurer) and Maclina Okindo (Women Rep)
